Milk has  a texture that makes you feel fuller and less craving for the next meal. It contains protein and calcium, which help you face the busy day.If you don’t  like sour taste of low fat milk, you can have it with cereal or blend it with your fruit as a smoothy.

Blushing !

Zipper Bloomer !

One day, my mom asked me to go to the mini market to buy a pack of soap detergent. To be practical and not to soil any clean clothes, I decided to wear my girl-scout skirt that I just wore to school. So there I was, walking confidently to the mini market. When I was busily checking the price of the various detergents, a boy tapped me on my shoulder and whispered, “Excuse me, but I think you should zip up your skirt.”
Oh my! I was embarrassed that I forgot to thank him.

 Pajama Prank

One day, my school was going to hold a bazaar that we, the students, we created. My friends and I were busy preparing all the stuff for our booth. We decided to sell accessories, snacks, and drinks that we would make. And to attract something different : pajamas!
On D-day, I confidently wore my pajamas to school, but when I arrived there, I saw none of my friends wear them! Instead, they all wore nice clothes. They laughed at me and said that the pajama plan was just a joke!

Dare to Try ?

Extreme sports, or , as some people also say action sports or adventurous sports, are physical activities that tend to be dangerous. These sports are associated with an adrenaline rush that is felt by the participants. Any mistake could result in injury or even death. These sports involve speed, height, a high level of physical exertion, and highly specialized gears. You may or may not dare to try it yourself, but there’s no harm in doing this quiz about this kind of sports!

What sport is it?

1.       Using a boat or sailboard as a craft, participants have to move as quickly as possible over a predetermined route. They have to conquer waves and currents as they compete to be the first to reach the target.
2.       An elastic strong rope and a tight knot are needed for this sport. The participant then jumps from a tall structure, such as a building, a bridge, or a crane.
3.       A torch is a must for this activity. It would be better if it’s the kind that you can place on your forehead. Participants should be ready to anticipate water, or slippery passages. But the view of the place where this activity is held is sometimes breath taking.
4.       This activity is done at a certain height. A safety net is necessary and a long stick will help the participants to balance their body. People can also watch this performance in a circus or as a publicity stunt.
5.       Using a light and unmotorized  foot-   launchable aircraft, the participant relies on the wind to do this sport. The craft is usually made of an alumunium alloy. This activity is usually started from a high place, like a cliff, or a mountain.
6.       A small water craft for one is used in this sport, together with a set of paddles. The participant should be able to go to the destined place on a moving body of water. They have to face rock and currents along the journey.
7.       A participant wears a board attached to his or her feet and performs surfing-style aerobatics during free fall. The attachment to the feet is normally made removable, so that if the skydiver loses control or has difficulty opening his parachute, the board can be dropped.
8.       This sport consists of riding a certain kind of bicycles off-road, often over rough terrain. The bikes used share similarities with other bikes, but incorporate features designed to enhance durability and performance on rough surface. Because riders are often far from civilization, there is a strong ethic of self-reliance in the sport.
9.       This sport requires a certain kind of vehicle that operates in deep snow of forest. Speed is one of the winning factors in a competition. Participants need to wear a thick coat to deal with low temperatures.
10.   Participants carry a piece of equipment of breathing air into deep water. This apparatus allows them to stay underwater longer than diving with breath-holding techniques. Sometimes they also wear swimfins attached to their feet.

Are you ready to Party ?

A friend invites you to come to her/ his birthday party this coming Saturday. You’ve bought a lovely gift for her/him. When the day is approaching, you feel a bit worried about what you should wear, your make-up, and many other things. Well, worry no more, pal! This is the guide to help you get ready for the party!

:For Gals
-On make-up
As a teen, you’re allowed to put on some make-up. But be careful not to overdo it.
Apply face powder lightly. Add blush-on, eye shadow, and lipstick if you want, but choose natural or soft colors, such a pink or brown. Strong colors like cherry or wine red are not recommended.
-On Clothes
Your choice of clothes is totally up to you. But if you don’t want the bots ogling you with their desiring eyes, don’t wear something too revealing. If you choose to wear a mini skirt, you can add black leggings under it and wear a pair of boots. If you are expected to dance, don’t wear something too tight either.
-On scents
Most women, young and old, like to wear perfume. Choose a light scent. Don’t spray too much. Remember that not everybody may like the scent of your choice. Dab it on your neck and your wrist. And if you are considerably petite, you can put some on your hair, too J
-On Behavior
Wear a smile o your face, but don’t grin all the time. You may want to be the center of the party, but don’t steal all the attention for yourself. You should know when to listen.

For Guys :
- On Face grooming
Of course you don’t need to put on make-up, but you need to take care of your mustache or goatee or side burn if you have any. You may also pay attention to your nose hair. Make sure it’s all trimmed and invisible.
   -On Clothes
The choice of clothing for dudes is a bit limited compared to that for gals. But it doesn’t mean that you can wear whatever you want. First, you need to know what kind of party it is. Don’t wear a t-shirt and jeans to a formal event. On the other hand, you don’t need to wear a suit and tie to a birthday party.
-On scents
It’s OK  not to wear perfume if you don’t like it. But make sure that you wash your body before going to the party. Your body odor is one thing that you should check. Make sure your breath is fresh, too.
-On Behavior
Yes, a party is where you can meet nice girl and chat her up. If you don’t want to blow your opportunity, don’t scare her off. Be gentle and sincere. Offering to bring her a drink, or holding her purse when she needs help will add points. But when girl’s eyes show doubt, don’t push too much. She will probably vamoose in no time.

Tuna Fusilli

You’re certainly familiar with spaghetti and macaroni. Although they look different, they are members of the same family of food : the Italian pasta. They come in various shapes and sized and are served with different kind sauce. Pasta is tasty and relatively easy to make, you can whip it out at home yourself. This is recipe for you to try.

What to prepare :
-150 grams (4 teacup) Fusilli or other kinds of short pasta like penne or macaroni
-150 grams fresh marlin or tuna fillet/ chunks (canned tuna chunks work, too)
-5 medium-sized tomatoes
-1 cup cherry tomatoes (optional)
- Half a can tomato paste
- 1 slice of lemon or lime
-4 spoonfuls Extra Virgin Olive Oil (EVOO) or good old looking oil.
-6 cloves garlic
-6 cloves shallot
-1medium-sized onion
-1 cup champignon mushroom
-1bell pepper
-Salt and pepper
-Basil ( or the Indonesian substitute: lemon basil, locally known as kemangi)

What to do :
1.       Put tuna/ marlin into a frying pan, squeeze the lemon over it, and add a little water. Add some salt and make sure all the tuna chunks are marinated in the lemon and salt water. Cook on low heat until the water evaporates. Then dice the fish.
2.       Dice the tomatoes and bell pepper, quarter the champignon, chop the garlic and shallots, and slice the onions.

3.       Sauce the garlic and shallot with EVOO. Cooking oil is fine, but EVOO gives a different  flavor  to the dish. Add the onion slices a little later and let them cook until golden brown.

4.       Next, put in the diced tomatoes and tomato paste. Cook on medium heat until the tomatoes become soft and juicy (put the lid on the pan to make them cook faster).  Stir and squash the tomato chunks until you have a thick sauce.

5.       In the mean time, boil some water in a pan. When the water comes to a boil, add the fusilli and a teaspoon of salt. Stir the pasta and let it cook for about eight minutes. Pasta should be cooked ‘ al dente’ ,enough. Drain the pasta in a colander and add some/ EVOO / Margarine to keep the pasta from sticking to each other.

6.       Back to the sauce : Add the fish, champignon, bell pepper and salt and pepper. Mix well and let it simmer for three minutes.

7.       Lower the heat and add the pasta to the sauce. Add a pinch of basil (chopped kemangi makes a very nice substitute) and mix well.

That’s it! Piece of cake, right? Serve the pasta on a plate with parmesan cheese on top. Some would argue that cheese is not appropriate for seafood pasta, but hey if you like it hot, you can add some chilli sauce to the dish, and you’re to go.

Nearsighted

Are you nearsighted? If you have difficulty seeing things located at a distance from you, or if your vision is not as good as it before, or if your feel dizzy after reading, you are probably nearsighted. Take a glimpse at the following information about nearsightedness.
Nearsightedness (myopia) is a vision problem suffered by people whose eyes can’t focus on objects at a distance. A myopic condition occurs when eyeballs  are a bit longer or the retina is a bit rounder than normal. As a result, images of the objects seen are focused in front of the retina instead of inside of it.
Myopia is not a decease but it’s genetically passed through DNA. So if one of your parents has myopia, chances are you’ll suffer from the same problem.
Asian descents such as Japanese, Chinese, and Indonesian tend to have more nearsighted problem than other races. Myopia commonly occurs in adolescents (15-25 years old) and sometimes becomes worse with age.
If you think your eyes are myopic, don’t fret because myopia can be corrected with glasses, contact lenses, or eye surgery. If you go to an ophthalmologist or an eye doctor, he will prescribe you negative (-) lenses. You can also opt for contact lenses if you don’t like to wear eye glasses. Just remember to clean contact the lenses according to instructions and don’t sleep wearing them.

The effects of watching television on kids.

Is it important to know what your kids are watching? Of course, yes. Television can expose things you have tried to protect them from, especially violence, pornography, consumerism, etc A study demonstrated that spending too much time on watching TV during the day or at a bedtime often causes bedtime disruption, stress and short of sleep duration. Another research found that there is a significant relationship between the amount of time spent for watching television during adolescence and early adulthood, and the possibility of being aggressive. Meanwhile, many studies have identified a relationship between kids who watch TV a lot and being inactive and over weight.
Considering some fact mentioned above, protect your children with the following tips :
1. Limit television viewing to 1-2 hours each day because the effect of watching TV a lot on kids is stress,   bedtime disruption, and shorten sleep duration.
 2. Do not allow your children to have a TV set in their bedrooms because the kid watches too much TV at bedtime, and it is hard for child to sleep.
 3. Review the rating of TV shows that your children watch.
 4. The importance of knowing the program watched by our children.
 5. Watch television with your children and discuss what happening in the show.

Adoption

Adoption is the process by which people take a child who was not born to then and raise him or her as a member of their family. By law, adopted children differ from foster children. An adopted child, has all the legal right of a member of family that raise him or her. A foster child does not. Parents place their children up for adoptions for many reasons. Some parent feel they cannot adequately care for their of springs because of health or economic conditions. Some others, especially unwed parent may not want to raise a child. But there are couples who cannot have children of their own. Adoption gives them opportunity to raise a family. They can get one from an adoption agency if they have all the requirements asked. State laws prohibit adopyion agencies from revealing the identity of the natural parents to the adoptive from disclosing the identity of the adoptive parents to the natural parents. In some states, the law permits adopted persons who are at leasth 18 years old to see their birth certificates including the natural parent’s names. On the contrary, many adopted people worked to change the laws. The argue that people have a right to know their identity. They said that keeping secret their adoptions records violates their right. On the other hand, many people feel adoption record should be kept secret. If not, natural parents mightchange their minds years later and take the child awayfrom the parents who raised him or her. Some experts advise that a child should knoe of the adoptions by the age of 6 or 7. Surveys have shown that most adopted children develop normally.

Technique of Teaching

The SilentWay is one of the effective languange teaching techniques. It is a pedagogical approach to languange teaching based on the premise that a teacher should be as silent as possible in a classroom (about 90% of the time). The learners, then, are encouraged to produce as much languange as possible. They have much time both to be exposed to the languange and to perform practice. The learning hypothesis behind the SilentWay is that learning is facilitated if the learnes discover or create rather than remember and repeat what is to be learned. Also, student learn more effectively through problem solving-involving the target languange. It views languange learning as a creative, problem-solving and discovering activity in which the learner is a prinsipal actor rather than a bench-bound listener. Basically, in learning teachers prepare their students to have a problem-solving skill. And the SilentWay can be described as a problem-solving approach to languange learning, and is summed up nicely in Benjamin Franklin’s word: “Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn.” I conclude that the SilentWay is an appropriate languange teaching technique

Do Women Deserve Higher Education?

The issue we are discussing is wheter women need higher education or not. Some people think that there is no use for women to get higher education, for women’s main role is knowing about practical households and surroundings. Thus, is sufficient for womens to lead her life. In addition, higher education does not ensure women to get better life, so why bother about it? There are many examples of womens who are successfull in their lives although they only enjoy average education. They succed in managing their household, educating their child and participating in community activities. On the other hand, some other people believe that women also have theright to get higher education. Their claim that education is important for everyone including women because its one way to improve the quality of life. Therefore, every women must get education as high as she can achieve. A further point they make is that higher education is not just the matter of achieving a better position in community or working environtmen. More importantly it is the way to empower women and to give them better understanding of life and universe. In other words, women have the same right to get higher education as men do. However, it also their right to take the chance or just to leave it.

The Journey to the waterfall

Last week I went to see a waterfall with five of my classmates. We went there early morning by bus. At 5.30 a.m. all of us had gathered at the bus stop waiting for the bus that would take us to ourdestination. Only ten minutes laterthe bus vame and it was almost fully seated since it was a holiday. Luckily, we all got the seats. During our journey, we enjoyed enchanting scenery. Many big trees grew in left and right sides of the road, everything looked so green and fresh. The weather looked so fine. We could clearly see the green and fresh. The weather looked so fine. We could clearly seethe green hiils and the sun which was coming out behind the hills. Two hours later, the journey ended. My Friends and I straightly went out the bus and walked to the waterfall resort. It took fifteen minutes to reach the resort. To see the waterfall, all visitors had to walk through many stone steps which were quiteslippery because it had rained last night. Arriving down, we saw a beautiful waterfall flowing down. The water was so clear and fresh. We splashed around and surely we got wet.

The faithful Horse and the Fox

An arab once had a horse that had served him faithfully for years, but was now very old and thus no longer wanted. “Go away!” the master told the horse. “When you return as strong as a lion, you will find the stable open for you again!” So the poor horse had to leave. On the road,he met a fox, two whom the horse told his story. The fox consoled him at once, “Have courage, dear horse! Lie down here on the road and pretend to be dead. Then just leave everything to me!” The fox then ran off to the den of a large lion. “There’s a dead horse on the road !” he exclaimed. “You should go and get it !” “Fine.”said the Lion,”but how will I drag it back here? It would weigh too much!” “Don’t worry, my friend,”replied the fox. “I’II tie the horse to your tail!’’ The Lion agreed to this plan, and when they reached the horse, the fox tied it tightly to the lion’s tail. As soon as the last knot was tied, the fox shouted, “Hup! Home! “ to the horse. The horse leapt to hisfeet and ran home to his master, dragging the enraged and struggling lion behind him. When the Arab saw the two animals, he said, “Well, my old friend, you really are stronger than a lion. From now on, I’’II look after you until the day you die.”

The Good Stepmother

The old witch locked Hansel in a cage and set Gretel to clean the House. She planned to eat them both. Each night the children cried and begged the witch to le them go. Meanwhile, at home, their stepmother was begining to wish she had never tried tried to get rid of the children. “ I must find them ,”she said and set off into the forest. Many hours later, when her feet were tired from walking and her lips were dry from thirst, she came to the cottage belonging to the witch. The stepmother peeped through the window. Her heart cried out when she saw the two children. She picked up the bedroom leaning against the door and crept inside. The witch was puting some stew in the oven when the stepmother gave her an almighty push. The witch fell into the oven and the stepmother shut the door. “Children, I have come to save you,”she said, hugging them tightly.” I have done a dreadful thing. I hope in time you will forgive me. Let me take you home and become a family again. “They returned to their home and the stepmother became the best mother anyone could wish to have, and of course they lived happily ever after!

The tiger’s whisker

One day a young woman went to visit a wise man seeking his help. She told him that her husband had been away in wars for three years. She told him that altough he had come back safely, he was not happy. Even he didn’t speak to her in the evenings and refused the food she prepared for him. In other words, he was gruff and moody and difficult to talk to. “What can I do to make him as happy as he was before he left?” “I can make you option to help your husband, but first you must bring me the whisker of a living tiger, “said the old man. “How can I do that?” asked the young woman. “You will find a way, “replied the old man. Then, the young woman went away and thought about this for a long time. One night she got out of her bed and went up to the mountain where the tiger lived. She took a bowl of food and went as close as she could to the tiger’s cave and left it for him to eat. The following night, she got closer and closer to the tiger. The tiger ate the food she offered. A week or two later, he let her stroke his furand after a few more days, the young woman was close enough to touch his mouth. Quickly, she pulled a whisker from the tiger’s head. She apologized to the tiger and took the whisker carefully in her hand to the wise man. “Look,”she cried out to the wise man. “I have the whisker from a living tiger. Now, you can make me my potion for my husband.”

My Holiday

Last holiday, my family and i went to one of the most popular tourism resort in Central Java. It was Jatijajar Cave. My Family rode a car to tiring the resort. It took 3 hours from Yogyakarta.Along the way,we saw such beautiful, enchanting scenery. The tour guide told us that the name of Jatijajar comes from the two jati trees growing at the Inside the cave, we saw Kamandaka statue, which had its own cave. The statues inside the cave represent the legend of Raden Kamandaka or Lutung Kasarung. We washed our faces in a small spring inside the cave. The water in the spring was so clear and entrance. The tour guide told us that many people still believed that the spring inside the legend could make someone well preserved. We also enjoyed beautiful stalagmites and stalagtites in this 250 meters long cave. Before dark, we went home. Although refreshing, we were quite happy visiting the cave.

A house on Fire

I had never sen a house on fire before. So,one evening when I heard fire engines with loud alarm bells rushing past my house, I quickly ran out. A few blocks away, I joined a large crowd of people, but we could not allow anyone to gettoo close to the building. What a terrible scene i saw that day! Huge flames of fire were coming out of each floor, and black and thick smoke spread all around. Every now and then tongues of fire would shoot up almost sky-high, sending huge sparks of fire round-about. Ten fire engines were busily engaged and the firemen in their uniforms were playing the hose on various part of building. The rushing water from several hoses soaked the building, but it did not seem to have any effect on the flames. Then the tall red ladders of the fire engine were stretched upwards and I could see some firemen climbing up with the hoses in their hands. On reaching almost the top of the ladder, they began to pour floods of water on the topmost part of the building. This continuous flooding brought the fire under control, but the building was completely destroyed. While fire is blessing in many ways,it can also be a great danger to human life. All right, that's my experience seeing a building on fire.
